Correlation between the average prompt neutron multiplicity as a function of the primary mass and the corresponding experimental mass of fragments from 252Cf spontaneous fission

Using a Monte Carlo simulation, we study the correlations between the average prompt neutron multiplicities as a function of the primary (pre-neutron) mass ν¯s(A) and the corresponding to the final (post-neutron) mass n¯(m) and the pseudo mass (obtained by the 2E method) N¯(μ) of fragments from the...

description Using a Monte Carlo simulation, we study the correlations between the average prompt neutron multiplicities as a function of the primary (pre-neutron) mass ν¯s(A) and the corresponding to the final (post-neutron) mass n¯(m) and the pseudo mass (obtained by the 2E method) N¯(μ) of fragments from the spontaneous fission of 252Cf. We interpret the results in terms of the ratio of neighboring mass yields RA (=YA+1/Y(A)). We find that; (i) n¯-ν¯s is correlated with R-1, and (ii) N¯-ν¯s is correlated (anticorrelated) with R-1 when μ<A (μ>A).
