Summary:Testosterone deficiency leads to hypogonadism, which has shown a direct correlation with Type 2 diabetes mellitus. Hypogonadotropic hypogonadism is the major classification of hypogonadism, based on origin, which is related with diabetes. It also shows it's co-effect on other systems and has complications related to cardiovascular risks, subcutaneous and visceral fat, etc., Our article also talks about the effects of testosterone replacement therapy on indices such as insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, etc., Statin therapy can have detrimental effects on testosterone levels, hence, this review talks about such effects and the possible ways to manage them.
