The relative abundance of phytoplankton population of the Brass River system revealed the presence of the following marine phytoplankton families Bacillariophyceae (Bidulphia auria, M. mobiliencesis, B. sinsensis, Skeletonema costatum), Chlorophyceae (Halosphaera ividis), and Dinophyceae (Ceeratium sectum).
