Summary:The pandemic of COVID-19 has been able to collapse the health systems in the most affected countries, which has generated changes in all the medical and surgical services. Therefore, it is important to evaluate appropriately whether to carry out an immediate surgical intervention or to maintain conservative treatment until there is a better control of the pandemic. Similarly, protocols of services rendered inside the hospital should be followed that include new behaviors and reinforce those that already exist, in the preoperative, peroperative and postoperative periods.
