| Summary: | The features of discourse powers used in the American national anthem for interaction between the addresser and the addressee are described. Carried out discourse analysis of the anthem promotes understanding what discourse operations, rhetoric and stylistic techniques make interaction between addresser of the discourse, the discourse itself and its destination effective, the way the national anthem becomes attractive to the addresser. It was revealed that the attractiveness of the US national anthem discourse is based on actualization mechanisms of positioning: unity and opposition, imaginering: dramatization. They help to draw attention to the semantic content of the anthem, enhance penetration ability of its semantic model, increase the degree of interaction with the addressee, intensify the emotional reaction, outline the opposition: friends - enemies.
