Cities and archaeological sites in Iraq received great attention from geographers and travelers who visited them and wrote down their observations and what they contained of architectural and civilizational styles and historical aspects, the purpose of which is to identify their historical origin and to which era they belong.
The writings of geographers and travelers are among the important sources for writing history because they reflect the observations of his eyes. They contain an accurate description of what that city and site were like at the time of their visit, as well as the records of historical incidents associated with it.
