description Objective. The purpose of the article is an experimental study of a thermoelectric system (TES) for the treatment of periodontal diseases by the method of local hypothermia.Method. An experimental stand and a technique for measuring prototypes of TEC for the treatment of periodontal diseases by the method of local hypothermia are described. The experimental stand is made on the basis of the measuring equipment of the laboratory of semiconductor thermoelectric devices and devices of the FSBEI HE "Dagestan State Technical University". In the first version of the TES, two thermoelectric modules (TEMs) are directly mated with the simulator of the periodontal area through a silicone layer, and in the second, thermal contact between the thermomodule and it is made through a special highly thermally conductive nozzle.Result. Graphs of the time dependence of the temperature change of the control points of the experimental samples of thermal power plants for the treatment of periodontal diseases by the method of local hypothermia at various TEM supply currents were obtained. The control points were the cold and hot junctions of the TEM, periodontal simulator, heat sinks from the hot junctions of thermal modules.Conclusion. As a result of the measurements, it was found that it is possible to achieve the required level of decrease in the temperature of the periodontal area using standard TEMs of the Kryotherm LLC (St. Petersburg) type TV-17-1.4-1.15 and DRIFT-1.2. In this case, the duration of the output of the samples to the regime in the first case is 230 s, and in the second - 320 s. The deterioration of the dynamic characteristics of the second version of the device is associated with the presence of a highly thermally conductive nozzle. As a result of full-scale tests, it was shown that the use of forced air and liquid cooling to remove heat from TEM hot junctions is sufficient to comply with the required temperature regimes of hypothermia.
