Summary:The subject of the study is the assessment of Polish legal solutions in the field of prisoners’ right to vote from the perspective of the directive on individual prevention as regards the punishment, understood as a preventive and educational impact on the prisoner. The examination concerns the prisoner’s right to vote in a theoretical perspective, that is legal solutions cancelling the prisoners’ right to vote and practical perspective – legal solutions and practice aff ecting the capacity of prisoners to exercise their right to vote.
