description | Bacterial meningitis is a severe disease, accompanied by high risk of death or long term neurological
morbidity. With modern day medicine, patients expect complete control of the disease.
Objective. Disease pathogeny is hardly obvious in each bacterial meningitis case. That contributes to
multiple dilemas about diagnostic and therapeutic approach.
Material, method. Case presentation with an unfavorable outcome, clinical evolution and associated
implications for the ENT specialist in future case management.
Conclusion. In pediatric patients, symptoms can be discrete and misleading when bacterial meningitis is
present. Good therapeutic approach can not cure all patient with bacterial meningitis. |
