Karsten is actually an acaulescent palm, and does not have the 15-18 m tall trunk described by Martius. <em>Scheelea attaleoides </em>Karsten is shown to be a synonym of S. <em>insignis.</em></span><br> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; line-height: normal;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: ">Con base en la exploración detallada de la localidad típica, y en el estudio del tipo, se confirma que <em>Scheelea insignis </em>(Mart.)
