Summary:Super alloys are generally used in applications where properties such as high temperature, strength and corrosion resistance are required. Since these applications require welding during manufacturing, welding of super alloys has to be in compliance with requirements per given standards. Inconel 718, a Fe-Ni based super alloy was chosen for this research. In this research the mechanical properties of welded parts were compared to the mechanical properties of the parent materials. The result of tensile testing was compared on samples that had TIG and electron beam welding (EBW) applied.
