description Heterogeneous solution hydrogenation was one of the important methods to prepare hydrogenated nitrile rubber (HNBR). In this paper, the latest research progress of heterogeneous solution hydrogenation was reviewed with 40 references, for example, preparation methods of heterogeneous ca-talyst, catalytic systems, and removal methods of catalyst. Seven key research directions of the future technology development were proposed, which could accelerate localization process of HNBR by heterogeneous solution hydrogenation.
