Description
Summary:The independent and autonomous local environmental government administration under the direction of the Ministry of Environment SR was established two times in last 30 years in districts and counties of Slovak Republic. Both administrations, first in period 1991 – 1996 and second in period 2004 – 2013 were successfully helping to improve the quality of environment in regions. After the abolition of their independency were both incorporated into regional administrations under the Ministry of Interior of SR. Additionally, three state funds contributed to the improvement of the environment through financial subsidies for environmental projects: The State Environmental Fund of the Slovak Republic (1991 – 1998), the State Environmental Fund (1998 – 2001) and since 2005 the existing Environmental Fund.
