description The purpose of this study is "To find out and analyze whether the development of Human Resources has an effect on the performance of the State civil servants (ASN) at the Ministry of Religion of South Sumatra Province". This research method uses quantitative research with Explanatory Research, meaning that research is conducted to see the relationship or influence between variables with the aim of testing hypotheses. With this method, it is expected to explain phenomena based on the data and information obtained. The total population for this study were employees of the Ministry of Religion of South Sumatra Province, amounting to 250 people. The population in this study was only employees with the status of civil servants who had participated in the human resource development program of 75 people. The sample is part of the population that is actually the object of the study. Because the subject population is less than 100, the sample of this study is the entire population. The results of this study indicate that based on the Coefficient of Determination Test, an R value of 0.576 is obtained, this number indicates a strong relationship between human resource development and performance. Based on the results of the R Square determination test, it can be seen that the R Square value is 0.332 or 33.2%, this shows that the human resource development variable has an influence of 33.2% on the performance of employees at the Ministry of Religion of South Sumatra Province. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, the researcher concludes that the variable of human resource development has a significant positive or direct influence on employee performance at the Ministry of Religion of South Sumatra Province. The basis for this conclusion is the t table at a significance level of 5% with dk 75-2 = 73 so that the t table is 1.9930. Meanwhile, t count is 3.340. Based on the value of t table and t count above, it can be seen that t count > t table so that the hypothesis is accepted.
