| description | The effectiveness of the development of the financial market infrastructure provides the possibility of expanding financing mechanisms, securing financial flows of entrepreneurs from low-performing operations, reorienting investors to the European financing mechanism through financial holdings. Unfortunately, unanimity in the scientific and regulatory activity has not been achieved in determining the content of the principles and features, the place and importance of the financial market infrastructure. The purpose of the article is to substantiate theoretical and applied aspects of the functioning and development of the infrastructure of the financial market of Ukraine. Applied research methods: when substantiating categorical apparatus – the method of scientific abstractions; in determining the patterns of development of the basic segments of the financial market infrastructure – methods of analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction; when substantiating the role of financial intermediaries in the formation of a modern model of the domestic financial market - methods of comparison, groupings, samples; to substantiate the strategy of development of the infrastructure of the financial market of the country – methods of scientific abstraction have been used. The practical significance of the results obtained is to substantiate the theoretical conclusions and develop practical recommendations that can be used in the process of developing state program documents that will determine the strategy for the development of the financial market infrastructure of the country as a whole and its individual segments as well as the activities of financial market intermediaries. Scientific novelty: the further development of the interpretation of the category «financial market infrastructure», which proposes to define the subsystem of market infrastructure, the multilateral system of institutions, whose activities are aimed at establishing common rules and procedures for all market participants, technical support and special risk management practices. A sample analysis of the current composition of financial institutions in Ukraine and their dynamics has been conducted. The scientific and methodical approaches to structuring elements of the financial market infrastructure on the basis of their modernization have been improved.
