description <p class="western" align="justify"><span><span style="color: #353637;"><span><span style="font-family: 'Liberation Sans', serif;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span><span><span><span>The purpose of this brief essay is to analyze references and possible connections between songs from the album Paratodos by Chico Buarque, especially the song “Choro Bandido”, composed in partnership with Edu Lobo, and concepts of classical poetics. Aware of the proximity between singing, intonation and speech (which are also intertwined in the ancient verbal arts that gave name to what we now call poetry), the voice of a poet appears in “Choro Bandido”, unfolding not only in a set of images that allude to old notions of poet’s life (poverty, cunning, need, lies, inspiration, blindness, supernatural power), but also in details of the reflection developed by Plato in his work.</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p>
