Summary: | Smart grids, smart destinations, smart cities.... are concepts that have been gaining momentum in recent years. They are the components of a rhetoric that advocates systemic techno/eco ideals through the deployment of so-called "smart" technologies, optimized energy management, to ultimately claim to participate in improving the quality of life of residents and tourists. The purpose of this contribution is to put into perspective the transformations that cities and tourist destinations are undergoing in the era of digital and technological transformations. It attempts to propose a cross-cutting and circumscribed view of the convergence of tourism and technology in the context of the intelligent destination. In the second part, we will briefly present the works selected for this special issue of the journal Études caribéennes. |
