description | [Automated translation of the Polish Summary—No original English Abstract available.] During the experiments on pike with a body length of 20 to 70 cm, the smallest focus distances for the anterior segment of the field of view, the angle of the binocular field of view in the plane of the pigmented cavities in the skin of the upper jaw symmetrically located on both sides, and the parallax obtained from the intersection of the plane of the pigmented cavities were measured in the skin of the upper jaw with a line parallel to the axis of the body passing through the end of the mouth. The distance to the closest sharp point of view was found to be proportional to the body length of pike. The linear widths of the binocular field of view at the shortest sharp vision distance do not exceed the length of the victim so that the last one fits freely within the binocular field of view at the time of attack. The parallax for the shortest sharp vision distance is approximately equal to the maximum opening of a pike's mouth. |
