description | The article provided an X-ray fluorescence study of the chemical composition of 2 rock samples taken from a rock dump using a bench-top X-ray fluorescence analyzer (XFA) – ElvaX Plus spectrometer.
Rock dump material of non-working waste heaps from mine of. T.G. Shevchenko (Pokrovsk city) in the form of a burnt rock was used as samples of the rock. Sample of rock No. 2 represents the rock from the source of combustion of the waste dump of the same waste heap.
The aim of this work is a comparative analysis of the chemical composition of rock samples for the presence of: CaO, SiO2, Al2O3, K2O, Fe2 O3, MgO, TiO2, S during and after the process of burning the blade.
According to the results of spectral analysis, a change in the composition and concentration of chemicals in the samples before and after oxidation was established. It was shown that the concentration of sulfur (S), which is a nomadic chemical element in spontaneous combustion of waste dumps in rock sample No. 2, removed from the burning center, will significantly exceed the sulfur concentration in the rock of burnt sample No. 1. |
