Summary:The motivation is stated by the author to act together with social determinants of behavior as an incentive for work activities. It is shown that motivation is a complex social and psychological mechanism, which relates external and internal factors of behavior regulation in the conditions of professional «Me»-image formation. It is found that motivation ensures the development of creative activity of a personality. It is proved that motivational characteristics never act in isolation, because the creative activity of students is formed and manifested in activities as a complex integral education, as a synthesis of diverse properties, where motivational, personal intellectual characteristics act in real behavior as a single psychological mechanism. It is summarized that motivation in the process of students’ professional «Me»-image formation acts as a peculiar mechanism of behavior determining the degree of purposefulness of professional behavior. It is concluded that the success of the professional «Me»-image formation is related to the following qualities of students as an adequate self-esteem, developed self-control and internal control locus, formed motivation of learning, the effectiveness of psychological protection, that is, the qualities characterizing the personality-based maturity, determining in the process of mastering profession, the formation of the integral structure of the professional «Me»-image of the student’s personality.
