Summary: | The case of an 18-year-old female patient who was admitted to the Oncology Department of the Celestino Hernández Robau University Hospital in Santa Clara, Villa Clara, is reported. The patient was diagnosed with an ovarian tumor requiring surgical treatment. The histopathologic diagnosis was adenocarcinoma with signet ring cells (Krukenberg tumor). The primary tumor was found in the colon. The frequency of Krukemberg tumor is 3-8% of ovarian tumors. It is more common in women between the fourth and fifth decades of life, and the most common location of the primary tumor is in the stomach. There are few studies on this disease despite its poor prognosis and rapid evolution. |
