Summary:In suburban areas, mobility and auto-mobility are inseparable as much as they are indispensable, both for workers transformed into “commuters” and for aging populations at risk of isolation and dependency. However, the economic constraints of some and the impossible mobility of others, sometimes even within their housing, make their situation very complex and lead them to a certain vulnerability. These elements will be presented and discussed through the examination, in multiple Burgundian suburban spaces, of the situation of modest housing and then of older people less and less mobile... and more and more isolated.
