Summary:This article aims to analyze the current role that South-South technical cooperation in the area of Quality Infrastructure (QI) has in the process of international articulation of the National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology (Instituto Nacional de Metrologia, Qualidade e Tecnologia – Inmetro). The research is based on a qualitative analysis, made possible by the analysis of data and internal documents, as well as non-replicable primary sources. The research also includes a descriptive analysis, in dialogue with specialized literature on the field of International Development Cooperation, with special attention to the production on the theme of South-South cooperation and the concept of QI. With the analysis made in this research, it was possible to publicize the practices and history of Inmetro’s international area and to provide an overview of its international performance in cooperation projects with countries of the South.
