widespread use of financial instruments due to the increase in the diversity of financial instruments used in a
country leads to financial deepening. Therefore, developments in which an advanced financial system will
enhance financial innovation are associated with economic growth. The financial system plays an important role
in ensuring economic growth and creating the necessary resources. From this point of view, the financial system
refers to a system formed by economic instruments, which are funded and demanded in an economy, by
regulating fund flows and bringing financial instruments together under regulatory, legal and administrative
rules. It allows transfer of savings to investments through fund transfer. It contributes to the increase in the level
of income provided to the economy as well as to the increase of social welfare. The main objective of this study
is to clarify the concept of financial deepening in parallel with the definition of the financial system, which is
one of the focal points of financial deepening, and ultimately to examine the long term relation between financial
deepening and economic growth between 2001-2016 with Toda-Yamamoto Analysis |
