Summary: | The text is made form the tesimonies of ten (10) habitants of Nuevo Chile neighborhood with stories about the circumstances previous to their arrival in the neighborhood –which majority-it make reference to four big subjects: be victims of a system that does not guarantee decent housing for all, an economic model that oblige to migrate in search of better future in the city, be victims of the bipartisan violence, and be harassed by his militancy in the Communist Party. It is about of consider the reflection from the first settlers and founders of neighborhood in a look that is not limited to the neighborhood itself but it consider the dynamics such of the city, as the effects of political violence that the country lives since the beginngs the century XX. The investigation about the Nuevo Chile neighborhood contemplates other testimonies, but it are not included in the present version that stands out, in essence, thevictimization that they suffered before arriving in Bogotá.
The Nuevo Chile neighborhood was the result of the direct action of the communities from the 14 February 1971, in what was initially called an invasion carried out by 540 families and today are in the "space recovered" and legalited as organised by the Central Nacional Provivienda (Cenaprov or Provivienda), under the influence of Colombian Communist Party. |
