description Introduction: Laparoscopic surgical methods are used more and more to treat gynecological conditions, however, although they have advantages, minimally invasive techniques are not exempt from complications. Despite its importance, there is no homogeneity of criteria for laparoscopic gynecological surgery. Studies on the subject address very heterogeneous situations and therefore the results are highly variable. A bibliographic review on complications of laparoscopic gynecological surgery was carried out from 2010 to 2021. Guidelines, systematic reviews, randomized clinical trials and observational studies were selected. Objective: To carry out an analysis of the literature on the complications of gynecological surgery and its classification during the videolaparoscopic approach. Development: The main complications related to laparoscopic procedures for gynecological interventions are mentioned, as well as the various ways of classifying them, a standardization system is reported in the bibliography to achieve homogeneity, which is little used in Cuban research. From the review carried out, few bibliographical citations were found that address the subject investigated in Cuba. Conclusions: In Cuba there is no consensus to classify complications in laparoscopic gynecological surgery; it is necessary to expand the autochthonous research on the subject.
