Description
Summary:It is obvious that the technological advance led to a radical change not only of the concept of money, but also of the contracts and agreement that can be done between the parties through electronic means of communication. Digital signature is a technology that allows its users to validate the authenticity of electronic documents or instruments. In this paper we aim to create an overview of the electronic signature, starting from its definition, continuing with the main features and advantages generated by its use, as well as an overview of the legal framework for electronic signatures. The last part of the paper focuses on the process of introducing the concept of electronic signature in the Romanian banking system and presents the main legislative and financial barriers that this process has encountered.
