description Abstract : The purpose of this research is to know the learning achievements of students through the internal quality assurance system and as a tool to achieve and maintain school progress. This research uses qualitative approach. Data sources are used through interview techniques, observations, and documentation studies. Analysis of research results used is data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The findings of the meaning of the importance of SPMI are presented to basic educational institutions. The research was conducted in one of the private elementary schools in Bandung. The results of this study show that: (1) SPMI conducted continuously contributes to the acquisition of superior accreditation ratings. (2) The spmi cycle carried out in its entirety has guided the course of various tasks from school stakeholders. (3) Quality culture can be created through the implementation of SPMI.   Keywords: Urgency; Internal Quality Assurance System; Quality of Elementary School   Abstrak: Tujuan riset ini ialah guna melihat capaian pendidikan anak didik melalui sistem penjaminan mutu internal dan sebagai alat untuk mencapai serta memelihara kemajuan sekolah. Riset tersebut, dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Data yang diperoleh didapatkan melalui teknik interview, observasi, dan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan digunakan reduksi data, penyajian data dan manrik kesimpulan. Temuan adanya pemaknaan terhadap pentingnya SPMI dilaksanakan pada lembaga pendidikan sekolah dasar. Penelitian dilakukan di salah satu sekolah dasar di Bandung. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) SPMI yang dilaksanakan secara kontinu memberikan kontribusi terhadap perolehan peringkat akreditasi unggul. (2) Siklus SPMI yang dilaksanakan secara utuh telah memandu jalannya berbagai tugas dari stakeholders sekolah. (3) Budaya mutu dapat tercipta melalui implementasi SPMI.   Kata Kunci: Urgensi; Sistem Penjaminan Mutu Internal; Mutu Sekolah Dasar
