Summary: | A literature review for the updating of current knowledge on humanized childbirth is conducted. It includes the works of both national and international author as well as Internet and search results. The objective is to identify the specific changes that could be achieved in order to improve the experiences of women during childbirth as well as the development of tests and methods to promote these changes. The present studies emphasizes on the positive effects that personalized support may produce during childbirth as a result of a solid scientific evidence supporting humanized childbirth, thus allowing to contribute to the reduction of maternal and perinatal mortality and the number of caesarean sections. It also improves the quality in the attention to these women, leading to a happy birth.
