Summary: | In this article, we focus on the development of football/soccer television coverage in France and Quebec/Canada through a study of the acquisition of broadcasting rights for matches. We find that while football/soccer market share on television differs from one side of the Atlantic Ocean to the other, there is nevertheless some convergence, especially with the development of specialty television in the context of a Post-Fordist society. |
