Description
Summary:Dermoid cysts are infrequently found in the head and neck. The most common location in this region is the external third of the eyebrow. Cysts of the floor of the mouth are rare. These lesions are slow growing and painless. They are most often seen in young adults. Diagnosis before histopathological evaluation may not be possible, because the clinical presentation is nonspecific. We report here a case of a 24-year-old male with a dermoid cyst on the floor of the mouth. The literature is reviewed and the characteristics of this lesion are discussed.
