Description
Summary:The objective of this paper is to evaluate, considering the local population’s view, urban projects carried out by public–private partnerships, in particular Cais Mauá and Pontal do Estaleiro, and to verify whether those projects meet communities’ needs. Data were collected by means of online questionnaires and interviews and were analyzed using Kendall’s W statistical test and considering the frequencies and meanings of the mentioned aspects. Results show that, despite having well-assessed elements, the projects, in general, do not match with the population’s interests, mainly due to the presence of buildings that pursue the profitability of space to the detriment of more public and cultural spaces, and green areas.
