Summary:This paper analyzes regional inequalities in the financing of socialdevelopment, particularly related to the financing of health, with a view to making policyrecommendations for the study period of 2002 to 2006. The population analysis consistsof the departments grouped into regions (Caribbean, Central, Eastern, Pacifica, NewDepartments, Bogota and Antioquia). For the base criteria, the allocation of resourcescited in Act 715 are used in the analysis. The study shows the consistency of allegationsthat expose the existence of serious inequities in funding for health in the Caribbean andPacific region against the national average.
