Knowing about the deaf difference and facts of the history of the deaf are fundamental to legitimize and give prestige to the deaf person as a human difference and thus avoid the tragedies of the past. The deaf are citizens and have the right to education in sign language. The access to knowledge enables the deaf to reach higher educational, professional and social levels, in order to guarantee the right to participation, independence and autonomy. |
