Summary:Rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) is one of the most important salmonid fish species that are commercially grown in the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as in many countries of the world. The area of the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina is characterized by a significant hydro potential that is not fully utilized in aquaculture purposes. The hydropower potential regarding hydrological regime, physical and chemical composition of water is suitable for the cultivation of salmonids. The aim of this paper is to present objects and systems of cultivation of salmonids in the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The existing objects salmonid farms in BiH were built in the past, mostly in the 60s and 70s uears of the last century. When it comes to rearing systems of salmonids in the Republic of Srpska and BiH is mainly represented in the classical way of the flow, and to a lesser extent represented cage breeding system, and growing in the recycle, the reclamation system and geothermal water is not present.
