| Summary: | This article examines the general characteristics of Niğdeli hemşehri associations in Istanbul. After a brief history of the organisation of Niğdeli in Istanbul, we analyze the relations between association/politics/bureaucracy and the roles of the presidents of associations in the structural relations networks which are not limited to electoral periods. At last, we analyze in a comparative way the aims, the activities and the functioning of Niğde city association and the two associations which are formed at the village level. |
