description | Water-repellent cotton and blended (cotton/polyester) fabrics have been obtained by treating them with solutions made of PDMS with mesoporous silica microcapsules loaded with different natural plant oils in presence of a crosslinker. The microcapsules were formed by using Emulsion solvent evaporation method using mesoporous silica as shell materials and natural oils (flaxseed oil, castor oil, olive oil, and soybeans oil) as a core material. The formed silica mesoporous micro capsuled were characterized by using different techniques. Different formulation ratios of PDMS, silica, silica loaded with oils, and different kinds of crosslinkers were tested to find out the best formulation recipe by using pad- the dry-cure method. The treated fabric was characterized by using different techniques. |
