description The article focuses on the associative variability of the interpretation of the artistic essence of music. Its emotional-sensual and educational significance is presented. The differentiation of the multifunctionality of music according to its social, psychological, pedagogical characteristics and their socio-economic significance has been carried out. Attention is fixed on the intimate, esoteric nature of musical perception. The interdisciplinary quality of music contributes to the disclosure of the figurative content of the works. It is expressed in a dualistic way: both the borrowing of historical and natural science knowledge in the process of revealing its figurative essence, and the appeal to its emotional, intonationalsound nature and cognitive potential when studying social science subjects. Thus, the binary nature of music, which is characterized by its emotional-sensual content and rational-intellectual potential, seems axiomatic. The work also presents the logic of the influence of types of musical activity of a person on his psychosomatic state, characterized by the concepts of introversion and extroversion. The article considers the conditionality of the mutual transformation of these moods in the composer, performer, listener, depending on the activity of their actions.
