description Pre-Diabetes is a well-defined pre-disease state of type 2 diabetes mellitus. The problem is even worse in the South Asian region where not only ''is the burden'' of pre-diabetes huge, but, as a high-risk ethnicity, individuals tend to zoom into Type 2 diabetes at a much faster pace than other ethnicities. Since 2021, August 14 has been recognized as the World Prediabetes Day. This date was chosen as it falls exactly 90 days before World Diabetes Day. (November 14th) Ninety days is the timeframe required to achieve a meaningful impact on elevated glycated hemoglobin levels. Over the last two years, professional organizations across the world have accepted the importance of World Prediabetes Day. In this manuscript, The South Asian Federation of Endocrine Societies (SAFES) calls for a global movement of awareness, advocacy and action, for prediabetes prevention and management.
