Description
Summary:The study of the trends of presidentialization/personalization in Spain of the last 30 years was conducted by the examination of three research areas: the government, the parties, election campaigns. The link between institutional/political elements is fundamental to understanding the factors that have gone, from consolidation of democracy, to the strengthening of the premier. The structure and the selection of leadership in PP and in the PSOE, and the strategies in electoral campaigns, show that these trends, strong since the birth of democracy, have been consolidated in particular with Aznar, to decline, in terms of presidentialization, with the first legislature of Zapatero, a government where but the personalist element has very stabilized.
