description Results of the study of metallurgical crucibles from the jewelry workshops of one of the capitals of the Golden Horde – Saray al-Jedid, which produced metal jewelry in the 40–70s of the 14th c. are presented in the paper. Chemical composition of the clay material of the crucibles, and to a greater extent, the composition of the crucible slags formed in the contact observation wall between the vessels and their blockage during the melting process have been determined by the method of scanning electron microscopy (SEM–EDS). The authors have established the composition of the molding mass of the crucibles, which is practically the decisive composition of the tableware located next to the pottery workshop. The paper also deals with the data on the assay analysis of the workshop's products. The assay of the gold demonstrated that the craftsmanship of the jewelers and the quality of the technical ceramics achieved high results.
