Description
Summary:The work discusses the features of the structure of fouling (biofilms) formed in the water treatment system of the iron-bearing groundwater of the Tungusskii deposit (Far East, Russia). The main factors affecting the composition of biofilms are trace amounts of organic substances, oxygen, different phylogenetic composition of microbial communities and their ability to form a polysaccharide matrix. The formation of structured communities in biofouling of the water treatment system can have a negative impact on the organoleptic characteristics of drinking water due to the formation of complex trophic connections.
