Description
Summary:This article analyzes the ways of reducing the parasitic emission current in the electron beam formation system of a technological gyrotron. The operation of the magnetron-injection gun in the quasi-critical mode and the profiling of the cathode can significantly reduce the space charge of electrons captured in a magnetic trap between the gun and the entrance to the gyrotron working space. The calculated electron-gun configurations improve the beam quality, especially in the regimes with a high pitch factor.
