Summary:The history of the Catholic Church in Western Pomerania and North undergone vicissitudes. Bishopric in Poznan, Gniezno metropolis and then provide space for more robuster development of the Catholic Church. In this space should be entered Prussian bishopric and diocese of Chelmno from the metropolis of Riga. Unfortunately, Protestantism, which in the sixteenth century arisen in Germany, reached many European countries, including the Duchy of Pomerania, and with it the Church of Pomerania and Prussia, and the local Catholic Church. The next 400 years is a constant struggle for the maintenance and restoration of the organizational structures of the Catholic Church and the Polish border, but lost in successive partitions. The year 1945 brought a new political reality, and yet the church.
