Currently, it is not enough to have the company of rare, unique resources and strategies for their use. Equally important is to identify the core competencies the company, which will provide the tools to create business models that involve tangible and intangible resources companies in a variety of configurations, in order to achieve sustainable growth. In this article, it is proposed to structure core competences, which determines the phase in the development of the company and its ability to create new business models that go beyond its core business. Indicated by the author on the basis of the structure was carried out preliminary studies, the competence in selected small businesses in the Pomerania region.
