description This article presents the stratigraphic characterization of the subsoil in the “Eden Premier” subdivision located in Tabasco, Mexico, determined from 8 mixed soundings carried out in the study area, which is made up of heterogeneous alluvial deposits that have caused differential subsidence. of varying magnitude and in different directions in various houses of the housing unit. The land is located in flood plains and peneplains of the rivers that surround the city of Villahermosa, Tabasco whose soils include fine sands, silts, clays and peat. These alluvial deposits are of poor quality and present serious geotechnical problems to the buildings placed on them due to their low resistance to shear stress and large deformations that they suffer when overloads are applied, finding that the buildings presented differential settlements of between 300 to 900% greater than the values allowed in the regulations and that in a certain way are associated with deficiencies in the construction process of the foundation.
