| Summary: | DTH are the initials from Direct To Home, a system allowing the transmission of more TV programs in a single package, programs that can be received by a digital installation, directly from the satellite, in any place from its covering area (the so called („footprint”). The system supposes that the programs are received from a single satellite after they have been “gathered” from all the satellites they are broadcast from and “grouped” in one “package”. For Romania this television system is relatively new, yet it has registered a boom. Therefore the present study is an overview of the present situation. |
