Summary:Most organizations are operating within the realities of a highly competitive global marketplace. It has become apparent that in this challenging environment, some organizations have continued to sustain their competitiveness through enhanced processes and systems of work management while others have failed to safeguard their future. The most critical factor to successful organizational performance is the people working within these organizations and the type of performance imperatives and systems employed to harness their talents and competencies. This paper, therefore sought to explain and determine the imperatives of performance driving some of the successful organizations in Kenya.
