| Summary: | This article describes the process of on-line publishing of CIVES, a data base of all privileges of citizenship found in Venetian archival sources from the end of the twelfth century until the year 1500 by the working group coordinated by prof. Reinhold Mueller since 1986. A description of the database itself and of its quantitative consistency is provided, together with some examples of usage and especially of the the tasks performed for publishing it on-line, paying particular attention to specific problems posed by treatment today of a database designed over thirty years ago. |
