description Salinity is one of the environmental stresses that causes severe changes in the growth, physiology and metabolism of plants. It also causes various biochemical changes and physiological responses and affects virtually all plant processes. Considering the increasing trend of salinity development and the lack of suitable lands for agriculture in the world, the use of saline resistant species or the use of compounds that reduce the effects of salinity stress and induction of resistance to stress in plants is very important. Salicylic acid, as a natural phenol, regulates growth and regulates the physiological and morphological processes of the plant. In order to evaluate the potential beneficial effects of salicylic acid on some physiological and morphological parameters of an experiment, a factorial experiment in a completely randomized design with 2 factors, salinity, including NaCl at 0, 100 and 150 mM and salicylic acid in 2 levels of 0 and 2 mM with 3 replications were conducted in the educational greenhouse of Faculty of Agriculture, Guilan University. At the end of the experiment, different parameters including plant height, dry weight and shoot weight, root dry weight and root, root length, malondialdehyde (MDA) concentration, protein content and relative leaf water content (LRWC) Made. In salinity stress, all growth parameters of plants, relative leaf water content, protein reduction and malondialdehyde increased. The application of salicylic acid increased all growth parameters, protein content, relative water content of the leaves, and eventually, salicylic acid, with its protective effect, reduced the peroxidation of lipids.
